Frequently
Asked Questions
This page is intended to answer
your questions not only about ourselves but about the coach
industry as a whole.
How do I
book a coach?
Fill in a quote
form on the website or telephone/email/fax
us with your requirements. We will try and get back to you
with availability and a price. If you like this price and
want to go ahead with the booking then confirm by telephone.
We will then make a provisional or firm booking as per your
requirements (occasionally a deposit may be required to secure
the booking).
What sort
of licence do you need to drive a coach?
To answer this question
briefly we assume that the vehicle is being driven for commercial
purposes under an operators licence. So to drive a coach with
upto 16 seats then you require a category D1 licence issued
by the DVLA or for a vehicle capable of carrying 16+ passengers
then category D entitlement is required.
How do I
know that the coach I am travelling on is safe?
For any business
to operate coaches they must possess an operators licence,
these are granted by regional traffic commissioners. To be
granted one of these licences, such as that held by ourelves
then this should imply financial security, proper maintenance
and professional management among other attributes. Therefore
all coaches operating in the UK should meet this minimum standard,
in addition to this firms such as ourselves believe and invest
heavily in safety devices such as seat belts (fitted to all
our coaches), ABS braking systems and speed limiters set to
100kph.
If you require any
further information the please visit the traffic area network
site, www.tan.gov.uk
Why don't
you have a fixed list of prices?
Quite simply because
often no two trips are exactly the same. Because people and
their requirements are individual means that the price offered
to them is individual, hence the need for us to be flexible
and approachable. Our pricing mechanisms rely on a number
of factors including: Length of hire, capacity and level of
luxury of vehicle, availability and time of day. However though
we still always try to be competitive with our quotes.
NB.
Please note that while the webmaster has tried to answer the
questions above fully, laws and regulations regarding driver
licencing are subject to change. Therefore if there are any
